Community Outreach & Charity Initiatives
At RCCG Throne of Grace, Gander, we believe that true ministry is expressed through love in action. Our commitment to serving others goes beyond the walls of the churchwe are here to uplift, support, and bring hope to our community and beyond in practical and meaningful ways.
Current Charity Programs
- Grocery Aid Program
Launched on September 15, 2024, our Grocery Aid Programis one of the ways we extend care to individuals and families who may benefit from a little extra support. Rather than assembling food parcels, we provide grocery store gift cards, allowing recipients to shop according to their unique needs and preferences.
This simple act of kindness has made a meaningful difference to many, from busy families to those going through transitions, and is offered with no strings attached, just love and consideration.
- Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Project
Each year, we joyfully participate in the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Childinitiative. Through this global outreach, we prepare and send shoeboxes filled with gifts, school supplies, hygiene products, and encouraging messages to children around the world.
For those unable to pack a box themselves, our church family is happy to step in and fill one on your behalf.
- Newcomer Welcome Program
In partnership with theAssociation for New Canadians (ANC), Gander, we began asoft launch of our Newcomer Welcome Program in 2025. This program is designed to support individuals and families newly arriving in Canada, especially those settling in Gander and surrounding areas.
Through events, practical guidance, and community connections, we aim to ease the transition into Canadian life—offering a warm welcome, friendship, and a faith-based environment where newcomers feel seen, supported, and valued. As the program continues to grow, we plan to expand our offerings to include orientation sessions, resource support, and volunteer mentorship.
These initiatives reflect our desire to be a light in Gander and its environs bringing hope, healing, and help wherever possible.
“…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.” – Matthew 25:40
